Tennessee Wesleyan University Women's Golf Start Spring Season Strong with Fourth Place Finish

The women's golf team returned to the links for the first time in the spring on Monday and Tuesday. The team opened the 2023 portion of their season at the Golden Tigers Spring Invite. The tournament took place at the Chattahoochee Golf Club on the Par 72 course.

Monday:

After the first round on the 5,801-yard course on Monday, TWU had one player in the top three, two in the top 13, and four in the top thirty of the individual scoreboard. A score of 81 put Maisie Hassall in a tie for third place. Cora Mount carded an 84 through the first 18 holes to finish in a tie for 13th. Morgan Satterfield's score of 86 left her tied for 21st while Bevin Harrill was tied for 28th with a score of 89. Ann Sofie Madsen finished the round with a score of 93 to be in 38th place

On the team scoreboard, the Lady Bulldogs had a total of 340 strokes, placing them in fourth place.

Tuesday:

Hassall carried her third-place tie to the end of the tournament, shooting 78 in the second round to finish tied in the same spot she began the day in with a total score of 159. Mount moved six spots up the scoreboard, shooting 78 in the second round to finish tied for seventh with a total of 162. Satterfield finished tied for 22nd after shooting 87 on the day, making her total 173.

Removing ten strokes from the first round gave Madsen a score of 83 in the second round for a total of 176 strokes and sole possession of 31st. Harrill shot a score of 97 in the second round, finishing in a tie for 37th with a total of 186.

The team finished the tournament in the same spot they opened the second round with, using a score of 326 to total 666 strokes and finish fourth overall in the nine-team field.

Up next for the team is the Point University Invitational at the Point University Country Club. The tournament is set for March 27-28.
