During a Feb. 19 inspection regarding foodborne biological hazards, Trammell’s Candies, Inc. in Sweetwater received seven citations from the Food and Drug Administration , according to data posted on the FDA’s website.

The FDA’s website details the company’s citations as follows:

  • “Your plant was not constructed and designed to facilitate maintenance and sanitary operations.”
  • “You did not maintain your plant in a clean and sanitary condition and in adequate repair.”
  • “You did not ensure that your cleaning compounds and sanitizing agents are safe and adequate under the conditions of use.”
  • “Your equipment and utensils were not designed and constructed to be adequately cleaned or maintained to protect against allergen cross-contact and contamination.”
  • “You did not identify and hold raw materials and other ingredients that are food allergens, and rework that contains food allergens, in a manner that protects against allergen cross-contact.”
  • “You did not conduct operations under conditions and controls necessary to minimize the potential for allergen cross-contact and contamination of food.”
  • “You did not submit attestations to FDA.”
