FOIA Request to Omega Graduate School Inc. Regarding Chinese National Students on May 14, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in educational institutions, SE Tennessee News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Omega Graduate School Inc., located in Tennessee. The request seeks detailed information concerning Chinese National students currently enrolled at the university.

Our inquiry specifically requests documents or lists detailing all current students who are Chinese Nationals, including their respective departments of study. If student names are protected under privacy laws, we have asked for a total count of these students, broken down by department where possible.

Additionally, we are seeking information about scholarships awarded to these students. This includes the amount each student receives and the source of each scholarship. Furthermore, we have requested details on any scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council and whether they overlap with other financial aid packages provided by the university.

We also aim to understand how Omega Graduate School monitors its students—particularly Chinese Nationals—to safeguard its Intellectual Property and other confidential information. As part of this request, we have asked for any relevant policies or procedures that outline these protective measures.

This request is made on behalf of SE Tennessee News and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to investigating governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws. Our mission is to provide comprehensive news coverage while holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public.

We believe that access to such records is vital for fulfilling our professional responsibilities as members of the media. We have also requested a fee waiver based on our role in disseminating important information to the public.
