60 percent of applicants to Tennessee Wesleyan University were admitted for fall 2018

At Tennessee Wesleyan University, 87 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Athens enrolled 1,008 students in fall 2018, including 977 in undergraduate and 31 in graduate programs, data shows. 15.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

82 percent of undergraduates are residents of Tennessee, and 13 percent are residents of other states. 5 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (72 percent) and Black or African American (10 percent).

The school admitted 60 percent of the 756 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 42 percent enrolled.
