Bradley County Sheriff's Office Recognizes Six Graduates from Cleveland State's Mig Welding Program

Ethan Robinson, Thomas Phillips, Charles Mullinax, Colbie Mason, Kai Jackson and Steven Beck are six of the latest graduates through a partnership with Cleveland State Community College and our Adult Education Program. Today, they earned their 40-hour MIG Production Welding Certification.

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Adult Education Program is run by Deputy Jean Casseus.  He works with many partners to ensure the programs success.  The goal of the program is to reduce the amount of recidivism we often see within our jail and allows for a career path once released.

Those collectively responsible for the program success include: Angela Cooper with Tennessee Department of Labor, Southeast Tennessee Adult Education; Beth Withrow of American Job Center out of Athens, TN; Heather Brown of Cleveland State Community College Workforce Development; Bre LaMountain, Coordinator of Workforce Development at Cleveland State Community College; Brian Stewart with City Fields; Steve Lawson, Bradley County Sheriff; Sr. Lt. Jeremy Kanipes with Bradley County Sheriff’s Office; Superintendent James Gregory with Bradley County Sheriff’s Office; Christi Walls, Jail Administrator with Bradley County Sheriff’s Office; and of course, Jean Casseus, their daily driver and coordinator of the Adult Education Program.

Congratulations Ethan, Thomas, Charles, Colbie, Kai and Steven on your accomplishment of MIG Production Welding certification.  Job well done! We hope to continue this success with other skilled trade opportunities for inmates in the future.
