Despite a career high in digs for Hannah Upton, the Lee University volleyball team could not earn a victory on the road at the University of West Georgia on Tuesday evening. The Lady Flames lost 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 16-25) to fall to 7-21 overall and 4-8 in Gulf South Conference play.

The first set UWG led wire-to-wire. Lee never trailed by more than four points but could not close the gap. The Wolves hit .308% in the first which led to 17 kills. Allie Whittinghill led the way with three kills for Lee in the first set.

Set three was a back and forth affair. There were four tie and three lead changes early on. UWG used a 5-1 run in the middle of the set to pull away and held on the win 25-22. Neither team hit well in the set but Lee had nine attack errors to only nine kills.

In the fourth and final set, both team traded the lead early, but both then UWG went on a 4-0 and a 5-1 run to extend the lead. The Wolves ended the game on a 7-3 run. Lee had six more attack errors in the fourth set.

The Lady Flames committed 25 attack errors in the game and UWG had 24. Abby Stroh had 12 kills and nine digs to lead Lee. Ashton Middleton had 22 assists while Clarissa Soza had 17.
