Lee University Lady Flames Come in 19th at NCAA Cross Country National Championships

The Lee University women's cross country team finished in 19th place at the NCAA National Championship on Saturday morning. The 6K race was run at Chambers Bay Regional Park in University Place, Washington as a part of the 2022 NCAA Fall Festival. The Lady Flames had 482 points in their 19th place finish.
 
Liza Kellerman was the best finisher for the Lady Flames coming in 56th with a time of 21:34. Freshman Megan Adams came across the line second for Lee coming in 102nd with a time of 22:04. Lily Hare was 123rd in the 6K with a time of 22:17
 
Danielle Horter was 131st with a time of 22:26. Katie Krueger finished in 22:45 good enough for 158th. Olivia McLain was 168th with a time of 22:51, and Phoebe Moran rounded out the finishers with a time of 24:17 for 240th.
 
Head Coach Caleb Morgan was very pleased with the result. "Our women had a very solid day. We knew without Aria that our expectations wouldn't be as high. As always we had people step up, Liza Kellerman and Megan Adams had big breakout performances."
 
"This is the funnest group of women I have had the privilege of coaching. They won their 6th straight GSC title and 3rd South Region championship in a row. We have everyone back next year and we can't wait to do it all again."
 
Adams State won the team title finishing with 75 points. Stephanie Cotter for Adams State won the individual title with a time of 19:45. She finished 43 seconds faster than anyone else in the race.
