Women's Indoor Track and Field performs strong at Indiana Tech Invite | Tennessee Wesleyan University

The women's indoor track and field program competed in a meet on Friday. The team competed in their first meet of the season back in December, making this the second meet of the season but the marked first time the team competed in the 2023 year. The schedule took the team on the road for the Indiana Tech Invite, where the team had a great showing in the top ten in several events and an NAIA "B" standard.

NAIA "B" Standard

The NAIA "B" standard for the women's indoor track and field program occurred in the Triple Jump. While finishing third in the event, Aniecia Goss hit a mark of 11.32m to hit the NAIA "B" standard in the event. Goss currently ranks No. 21 in the event.

Top Ten Finishes

After finishing fifth in the prelims of the 60m Dash with a time of 7.98 seconds, Goss went on to record a time of 8.10 seconds in the event to finish seventh overall. Madison Rooker finished eighth in the 600m Race, running the distance in a time of 1:52.38.

The 4x400m Relay Team consisting of Rooker, Genesis Lowe, Ashlee Caron, and Lauren Garrison ran a time of 4:49.79 in the event to give them seventh place.

On the field side, Goss not only had a top-three finish in the Triple Jump but replicated the finish in the Long Jump. A mark of 5.48m placed Goss third in the event. Goss was .02 meters from hitting NAIA "B" standard in the event.
