Visiting Young Harris College improved its record to 6-2 and took advantage of nine walks, two hit batters and three Lee errors in posting a 9-5 victory on Tuesday afternoon at Olympic Field. With the loss, the Flames dropped to 3-5. They will open GSC action on Friday, traveling to the University of Alabama at Huntsville for the first of a three-game series.

Lee used eight pitchers in the loss. Brycen Jewell entered the game in the fourth inning and was charged with the defeat. In 1.1 innings he surrendered two runs, allowed two hits, walked two and struck out one. Seth Coffelt was the starting pitcher and gave the Flames two solid innings. He allowed a hit, one run while striking out two and issuing a walk. David White and Jax Howard were also bright spots. Retiring two batters, White did not give up a hit while Howard came in to work the ninth. He did not allow a run and retired three of the four batters he faced.

Lee jumped on top 3-0 in the first inning. After Noah Hattier walked, Brandon Daniels, Dylan Standifer, Cam Suto and Josiah Miller followed with one-base hits. Hattier, Daniels and Standifer scored in the inning while Standifer, Suto and Miller drove in runs.

The Flames added only two more runs the rest of the day and the runs came in the fourth inning. Riley Black singled and later scored on a throwing error. Malachi Cloud walked and took second on an error. Nate Bynum singled and picked up an RBI. The Flames would load the bases with nobody out in the fifth inning but failed to score. Suto finished the day with three hits and Standifer had a pair.

The Lions came back with a single run in the second inning and took the lead in the third inning with three runs. Lee went back on top 5-3 in the fourth but Young Harris took charge the rest of the way, plating two runs in the fifth, a single run in the seventh and then put the contest out of reach with two more runs in the eighth.

Young Harris made the best of just five hits. Jeremy Pegora had two hits and drove in two runs. Jarrett Ford scored two runs and drove in a run with a hit. Ethan Stamps had an RBI and scored a run while Steven Spell rounded out the bat work for the winners with a hit that drove home a run.

The Lions used four pitchers. Cole Edwards settled down after allowing three runs in the first inning. All totaled, he pitched three innings, allowed five hits, struck out three and walked one. Colby Williams came on for two solid innings of relief, allowing one hit and no runs. Michael Buice sealed the deal. He pitched two innings and did not allow a run or a hit. Brady Caloway pitched the fourth and fifth innings and got credit for the win.
