Tennessee Wesleyan University Third Quarter drought dooms Women's Lacrosse

The women's lacrosse team are in the Sunshine State for two lacrosse contests. The first of the two games took place at the home of the Webber International University Lady Warriors on Tuesday.

Webber International scored the first three goals to put the Lady Bulldogs in a 3-0 hole. Kylie Heinrich scored the first goal of the game for TWU. A goal by the opponents made the score 4-1. By the end of the first quarter though, the Lady Bulldogs had tied the game. Heinrich scored her second goal of the game to cut the lead in half. Mac Alexander followed with a goal to cut the deficit to one while Camille Crisp scored to tie the score 4-4.

Olivia Ritter gave the team their first lead of the contest, scoring on an Alexander assist to make the score 5-4. Webber International took the momentum from the goal, scoring the next five goals to take a 9-5 advantage. Cydnie Helton stopped the streak with her score on Ritter's assist and a goal by Annalise Vigilante made the score 10-7 at the halftime break.

Out of the halftime break, the Lady Warriors put the game out of reach. Webber International scored five consecutive goals to move ahead 15-7. Jozlyn Long broke the scoring drought but the opponents scored four more goals in the third quarter to take a 19-8 lead into the final quarter.

TWU was unable to find a goal in the fourth quarter, going on to fall to the Lady Warriors 21-8.

Heinrich led the offense with two goals while Ritter, Vigilante, Helton, Alexander, Long, and Crisp each scored a goal. Rylee Brendlinger had 10 saves in the net.
