For the second time this spring, the Lee men's golf team won a tournament. The Flames shot a tournament best 278 (-10) as a team in round three to take the victory. Lee shot a 286 in round one and were six shots back off of the lead. After the second round, Lee shot a 285 and were two shots off the lead. The Flames 278 pushed them to a six stroke victory. For the third straight tournament, Beck Burnette was the individual medalist. He finished with a 209 (71-70-68) which was good enough for seven under par and a one stroke win.

Dustin DeMesserman finished tied for third with a 211 (-5). Oliver Lewis-Perkins was tied for 17th with a score of 217 (+1).

Trey Melvin finished tied for 19th with a score of 218 (+2). Dalton Chuba shot a 220 (+4) and tied for 30th.

The University of West Florida came in second place while Barry University was in third.

Head Coach John Maupin was very proud with the performance "This is a major tournament every season, and one we really look forward to. It's always one of the strongest fields of the year, and I just couldn't be more proud of these guys. It was our most complete tournament of the year from top to bottom of the lineup, and I was really encouraged by that. I think everyone finished in the top 30 individually which is pretty impressive at this tournament. I loved our mentality throughout the week, but particularly impressed with the ability they showed to pull out in front in the final round. Just a great team week!"
"Dustin had another great tournament, and put himself in contention all week, and handled it great. I really appreciate the way Beck handled this week, he's making it look much easier than it is. He had a slower start to the week, but just stayed patient, and waited on his chance to move out  in front. He took it on that front nine on the final round."

Burnette has won his third straight tournament and has now won seven tournaments in his career which is tied for most in Lee history.
The Flames will return to action March 27-28 at the Lincoln Memorial University Invitational in Lenoir City, Tenn.
